Eco-Tourism Field Trip to Merbok@Kedah

If you’re a nature lover and you would like to explore Malaysia’s nature, don’t miss the opportunity to join us on a field trip to explore Merbok River located in the north of Peninsular Malaysia. The mangroves in Merbok River are the habitates for lots of species (fishes, crabs, shells etc) and the mangroves are considered to be among the most-species rich in the world. There are approximately 30 species of mangroves, 80 species of birds and 50 species of fish and shellfish in the river. Merbok river is the main source of food for local people who mainly work as fisherman. You can experience a lot of river activities such fishing, collecting seashells, liftnetting crabs which will be guided by the friendly local villagers. There are also lots of historical places to be visited such as the old Gok Arang (Furnace), Archeology sites and tomb (maqam).
